Jozua Joubert was born and raised on the family farm, Karibib, on Polkadraai in Stellenbosch. He then later studied winemaking before traveling the world doing as many harvests in as many areas as possible.
In 2003 he returned home to secure a job as a winemaker, eager to show what he had learnt abroad. However, in 2010, things changed suddenly when the passing of his father suddenly made him the third generation custodian of the family farm.
Where, after three years of producing wine grapes sold to the cooperatives, he realised he needed a creative outlet of his own which set off a chain reaction. First culminating in Solitary Wine. A showcase of Polkadraai Hills terroir and later the realisation of Karib Wine Craft in its entirety
